I first came in contact with this book when I was a teenager and it completely changed my perspective about life. When I saw it on my neighbour’s bookshelf, the first attraction I had was the title. So, I borrowed the book to read and return within a week. Little did I know that it would spark up in me the desire to get organised alongside an undying hunger to live a meaningful life. More than a decade later, I ordered my copy from Amazon to relive the memories of when I practically began to set goals and achieve them, keep journals and keep the right company. Ever since, I’ve been a fan of Jim Rohn’s materials.
Jim Rohn was a well-respected author, entrepreneur and motivational speaker whose emphasis on personal development exceeded any other within his industry. He regularly mentioned that his life took a whole new turn as a result of the tutoring he received from his mentor on subjects that bordered around personal development, personal finances, personal time management and so on.
The book is educative, engaging and straight to the point. One that will leave you flipping from page to page without getting bored. It contains 7 strategies discussed over 11 chapters in 156 pages. Jim in a straight-talking fashion simplified the art of setting and achieving goals while projecting the value of making personal development your everyday business. He outlined a tested and proven strategy anyone can adopt to achieve the status of financial freedom. Among other things, he encouraged that readers adopt the habit of keeping journals because good ideas can originate from almost anywhere. Also emphasized is the role of building alliances and networks to increase your net worth. Overall, a very good read, rich in contents and packed with plenty of ‘how-tos.’
I strongly recommend this book to those who desire financial freedom but are clueless on how to achieve it. Those who are currently having issues managing their time or setting achievable goals. And most importantly, anyone in pursuit of wealth and happiness!
