Life is too short to be mean, insensitive, unloving, uncaring and unhelpful to others. More so, this world is so unpredictable and life’s conditions so unreliable. You may never know where or when you will need help from the person you refuse to help today.
Of what essence is it to go all out to make a living and never make a giving, to earn so much and keep it to yourself and family alone. You don’t have to have all the monies in this world before you can help others. As long as you’re in a position to spare something that others might be in need of, then, you can help. Even at that, you still don’t have to wait until you get a spare to help. Just help anyway!
“The man who dies rich dies disgraced.” – Andrew Carnegie
It is nothing but greed to deny others access to what you have. Of what good is it then for a one-eyed person in a community of blind folks if he or she cannot help to show the way? Don’t be like the dead sea that every other sea empties into it and itself never empty into any other. You only begin to become a living dead when you refuse others of your kind assistance. Pull somebody up the ladder with you; help somebody become something in life, for there is no greater joy than this.
“We cannot hold a torch to light another’s path without brightening our own.” – Ben Sweetland
Make a commitment today to be thoughtful about someone or a family you might be of help to. Reach out and extend a hand of help to the needy, the less privilege, not just at Christmas but throughout the whole year. For you have nothing to lose but everything to gain when you help others.
The summary is very simple: What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you!
