Unselfishly died on Calvary
Oh how you gave your life for me
Bruised, scorned, crowned your head with thorns,
No greater love performed, for me.
Nails in your hands, nails in your feet, pierced in your side could barely breath,
Could have come down, yet you remain
Standing in awe of the price you paid
Beautiful post! Despise not the days of little beginnings.
Little drops of water,
Little grains of sand,
Make the mighty ocean
And the pleasant land.
Little deeds of kindness,
Little words of love,
Make our pleasant earth below
Like the heaven above.
Julia Abigail Fletcher Carney
(6 April 1823 – 1 November 1908)
There are a few versions of Julia’s poem “The Little Things”, but this is undoubtedly the version I love most.
Our little progress daily seems minute, but added up together day after day, it is immense. Our little acts of kindness and words of love may seem small individually, but if 6 billion of us do kind deeds together, it is a great ocean and a very large difference.
The little acts do add up to create a heaven on Earth!

Very uplifting! Thanks for the post.
My almost 2-year-old daughter teaches me life’s lessons so many times a day. She’s taught me how to be persistent by the way she keeps calling ‘Mummy’ for umpteenth time in order to get my attention or ask me for something. She’s taught me how to get straight to the point by telling me exactly what she wants anytime I asked her the question ‘what do you want?’. She always takes advantage of that question though cos she goes on to ask for several things in one breath.

We all face challenges in life and just as our faces are different so also our issues differ from one another. Whilst to the rich, financial issues are no problem at all, it is the greatest challenge to a poor man. A student trying to pass a course to graduate may have challenges comprehending the course, but his lecturer has no such issue except the workload that is causing marital strains. Though both present in the same classroom, different woes beset them.
I have come to realise that to every stage of life, there exists a challenge. However, don’t let the issue beat you, make sure you beat it.
It’s never worth it to give up. It takes nothing to give up but it takes strength and courage to persevere to reach the goal.
I dedicate this song to everyone out there passing through a challenge, including myself. Don’t give up…
