Worrying is a futile exercise and I’m talking from experience. Besides the health implications, it voids today of happiness & tomorrow of its prospect. It does all harm and no good at all.
The tendency to worry differs from person to person and from situation to situation. Some people worry about their health, finances, relationships, businesses and careers. Others worry about the environment, economy and what the future holds. But whatever the size and shape of worry, the effects or impacts on all human are the same .
I recently picked up the word scary from my little girl’s vocabulary and it left me wondering how and where she got it from. So, I started to re-orientate her on the word scary meaning fear. As part of my conscious efforts to help my 2-year-old do away with the S-word, I discovered I had learnt a handful myself in the process. All about the true nature of scary (fear).
This is what I’ve learnt;
I know that look you’re giving,
Like you’ve got something to prove
‘Cause I have walked for miles and miles
In that same pair of shoes
You refuse forgiveness
Like it’s something to be earned
Sometimes pain’s the only way that we can learn
It’s the light that pierces through you
To the darkest hidden place
It knows your deepest secrets
But it never looks away
It’s the gentle hand that pulls you
From the judgement of the crowd
When you stand before them guilty
And you got no way out
