Change is one word that brings a lot of dread to people’s heart as it evokes a sense of uncertainty. Some people are victims of change, others are survivors of change. But however the case, everything undergoes change and nothing ever remains the same. Even as humans, we all have to face change at some point in our lives because we are in a constant state of transition and we’re continually being transported – whether instantly or gradually – into the new, the different, the unexpected, or the unfamiliar.
As a teenager in the early 90s, I saw a movie called ‘The Lord of the Flies‘ which was set during unnamed time of war when a plane carrying a group of British schoolboys was shot down over the Pacific. The pilot of the plane was killed, but many of the boys survived the crash and found themselves deserted on an uninhabited island, where they were all alone without adult supervision – no parents, no teachers and no academy.
